"Eagle Keeper" Life/Size Bronze Close-up This is a close-up of the eagle from the (L/S) size "Eagle Keeper" bronze. The model for the keeper of the eagle was a young Hopi/Pima Native American from Arizona. His father was Hopi, mother, Pima. The eagle is a Golden Eagle created from reseach at Liberty Wildlife in Scottsdale, Arizona. The modeling of the male figure took 88 days, the life size eagle took an additional six months of modeling in steel, clay and wax. The wing-span is 6 feet 1 inch (73 inches). The "Eagle Keeper" bronze was one of three figures scheduled for the "Portales Development" in Scottsdale, AZ. The Pensus Group, developers of the "Portales Development" lost funding in the land crash in 1988-89 and the Pensus Group closed its doors. Although the Pensus Group had paid a substantial deposit on the full three figure monument, withdrew without completing the second & third figures and forfeited the deposits paid to me. This image is of the full Life/Size bronze entitled "Eagle Keeper". Also See the bust and other images of the "Eagle Keeper" Life/Size Bronze.
