The purpose of the
Illinois Health Care Association is to promote excellence in standards of care in
long-term health care facilities and programs by exchange of information between its
members, other community agencies, professional personnel, and the general public; and by
the development and dissemination of information which will lead to better care of
patients and the solution of problems which are common to the members of the Association.
As a federation of long term
care providers, the Florida Health Care Association
is dedicated to
providing the highest quality care for elderly, chronically ill, and disabled individuals.

You will find them knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Pennsylvania Health Care Association The Pennsylvania Health
Care Association (PHCA) is a proffessional trade organization representing the
long term care community in Pennsylvania, and providing information to families and
individuals in need of long term care. Specifically, the PHCA represents more than
300 for-profit as well as not-for-profit nursing facilities, personal care(also referred
to as assisted living facilities), continuing care retirement communities. The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) represents nearly 750 nursing facilities, ICFs/MR, and residential care facilities in the state of Ohio. The Association was established in 1946 to meet the needs of the state's growing number of long-term care professionals. North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association is a strong and active association dedicated to providing long term health care to the patients we serve. The Association is composed of nursing homes providing professional long term care. The membership consists of 366 nursing homes representing approximately 36,000 skilled nursing and intermediate care beds licensed in the State of North Carolina. Tendercare (Michigan) Inc. is a respected provider of long-term health care services. Tendercare offers a broad continuum of care including: skilled nursing services, assisted living centers, medical specialty units and acute and post acute rehabilitation centers.

AARP serves their needs through information and education, advocacy, and community services provided by a network of local chapters and experienced volunteers throughout the country. Senior.com is a web site devoted to seniors. It provides numerous resources to seniors on a wide variety of issues from health to recreation. It is where I go when I want to chat with seniors on issues that concern the Aging in America project. The community services on Senior.com include free chat, e-mail, free personal web pages, recreational & educational events that include a "Senior.com University" with on-line tutorials to teach computer skills to seniors who are new to computers and the Internet. The Arc (formerly Association for Retarded Citizens of the United States) is the country's largest voluntary organization committed to the welfare of all children and adults with mental retardation and their families. New Lifestyles Online - Your complete guide to senior housing and care options for 39 metropolitan areas nationwide. Listing all state licensed nursing, residential care, and assisted living facilities as well as all Medicare certified home health, hospice, and durable medical equipment companies. All information, including the print guide, is free to the public and distributors. Transitions, Inc. Elder Care Consulting Transitions, Inc. Elder Care Consulting -- Free elder care assessment tools and worksheets, family and corporate consulting, "Where Do We Begin ... The sites goal is to include as much direct on-line information as possible. Seniors Computer Information Project is a highly acclaimed guide for retirees and older adults to Manitoban, Canadian and world-wide information and services. you don't have to be a star to look like one!" Note From Jim Branscum: There are many occasions in our lives which require high quality photographic services. I have known Candice Collmar-Thorton and her family for over 20 years and have used her photographic talents for most of my major art exhibitions throughout my career. Assisted Living INFO offers an online directory of over 11,000 assisted living facilities and retirement communities throughout the United States. Our map-based search engine allows families and health care professionals to identify the facilities in their area of interest. We also offer financial information and selection tips. Dee Adams says, "If you don't get it, you aint there yet." Dee provides a humorous look at a serious subject with her cartoons of "Minnie Pauz." She also provides links for the mature women at any age. Note from Jim Branscum: Dee Adams' cartoons are funny and well drawn. I can not give her site a higher recommendation.
